Lorraine M. Mastruzzo - Monday, October 6th

Lorraine M. Mastruzzo of Pittston, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by her family. Lorraine is survived by her husband, Matthew, with whom she would have observed their 54th wedding anniversary on November 24, 2014.

Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Josephine Shucosky Mandicott. Lorraine was a graduate of the former Pittston High School, Class of 1958 and Wilkes-Barre Business College, Class of 1959. Prior to retirement, she was employed for 35 years by the Royal Globe Insurance Company, Wilkes-Barre and Allentown. Lorraine was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.

Lorraine enjoyed many dinners with cousins, Patty and Dave Pepe. She also enjoyed family gatherings, reading, old movies, playing Pinochle and an occasional trip to the casinos.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are a brother in law and sister in law, Thomas and Elaine Mastruzzo, Stroudsburg; nieces, Maureen Carter, Harding; Lisa Stutz, Glen Spey, NY; Kaitlynn Matys, Pittston; nephews, David Matys, Pittston; Thomas M. Mastruzzo, Saylorsburg; Ryan Stutz, Glen Spey, NY; great nephews, Brendan Carter, Harding; Tony Matys, Pittston; Jaxon, Bodin, and Cooper Stutz, Glen Spey, NY. She is also survived by multiple cousins in Pittston, Lewisburg and residents of California.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean and husband, Anthony Matys.

The funeral will be Monday at 8:45 A.M. from Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in St. Joseph Marello Parish 237 William St., Pittston. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lorraine to the Second Presbyterian Church (for children activities) 143 Parsonage Street Pittston, Pa 18640 or to St. Joseph Marello Parish 237 William Street Pittston, Pa 18640.
