Mary C. Ardiere, 91, of Pittston, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Wesley Village, Jenkins Twp., surrounded by her loving family.
She was the widow of Frank E. Ardiere, who passed away on September 15, 1994.
Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Louise DeForte Ferrara. She was educated in the Pittston schools. Prior to retirement, Mary was employed by Main Pants, West Pittston and was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union. Mary was also a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston.
Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, who was cherished by her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Wesley Village for their care and compassion given to Mary and her family.
Surviving are her son, Frank "Chico" Ardiere and wife, Sharyn, Harding; daughters, Carol Shillabeer and husband, Rick, Swoyersville; Jackie Hoban, Plains; grandchildren, Carl and Jason Dorbad, Marissa and Tyler Shillabeer, Karen Ratzin and Rick Shillabeer, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jason II and Finn Dorbad, Kassidy and Dylan Ratzin; sister, Carmella Janiga, Exeter; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael; daughter, Darlene; her infant brother, Alfonso Ferrara; sisters, Fay Coniglio, Sara Wench, Ann Haefner, Theresa Brown, Grace Ardiere and Rose Kolativa and son-in-law, Thomas Hoban.
The funeral will be held at 8:45 A.M. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street Pittston (Port Griffith), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish 535 North Main Street, Pittston, to be celebrated by Rev. Jeffrey J. Walsh, V.E. . Interment will be in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Township.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
