Alberta Pastva, age 91, of West Pittston passed peacefully into eternal rest with family by her side on Sunday, August 5, 2018. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Joseph S. Pastva, Jr., who passed away June 2017.
Alberta was born in Exeter, PA, daughter of the late Michael and Martha Lavin Roman. She was a graduate of Exeter High School, Class of 1945. She was a professional seamstress and quilter and member of the ILGWU. Alberta was also a member of St. Barbara's Parish, Exeter.
Surviving are her loving children: son, Gary and daughter-in-law, Cathy; daughter, Jane Grohoski and son-in-law, Christopher; daughter Mary Lyn Barber; daughter Amy; grandchildren, Joann Napolitano and her husband Christopher and Janet Bohn and great grandchildren, Nathan and Reagan Napolitano; brothers, Thomas Roman and Charles Roman and his wife, Lorraine; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alberta was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Karen who died in childbirth; brothers, Edward and Vincent Roman and sister, Florence Wierzbolowicz.
A blessing service will be held on Thursday, August 9 at 12:30PM in the chapel at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schooley Ave., Exeter, with Fr. Joseph Sibilano, OSJ, officiating.
