Paul Joseph Stonikinis, 73, of Exeter and formerly of Dupont, passed away on Monday, March 3 at his residence.
Raised in Dupont, Paul attended Sacred Heart School and was a 1969 graduate of Pittston Area High School. He was a life long member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Dupont, regularly attending Mass there before moving to Exeter, and serving as an altar boy in his youth. Before retirement, he worked in various capacities at local manufacturing plants. An avid sports fan, Paul often tuned in to broadcasts of baseball and hockey games, especially when the Pittsburgh Pirates were playing.
He is survived by siblings Marie Rovinski and husband, Stanley, Jenkins Twp.; Monica Mott and husband, Michael, Jacksonville, FL; Therese Klinefelter and husband, Richard, Wilkes-Barre; Timothy Stonikinis and wife, Patricia, Dupont, and Rebecca Micca and husband, Michael, Shickshinny as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eva Stonikinis.
The funeral will be on Monday, March 10, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, offered by Rev. Thomas Petro, Pastor. Interment will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Dupont. Arrangements are by the Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. Pittston.
