Eleanor L. Cebula - December 21, 2013

Eleanor L. Cebula, 84, of Dupont, passed away Thursday morning, December 19, 2013, at the Partridge-Tippett Nursing Facility in the Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Twp.. She was the widow of Frank W. Cebula, who passed away August 16, 2006.

Born in Taylor, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen Chichurka Gable. She was a graduate of Taylor High School, Class of 1947. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Sciandra's Dress Factory, Dupont. Eleanor was a member of Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church, Dupont and the Ladies ANS Society. She was also a member of the ILGWU.

Eleanor was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Surviving is her son, Frank J. Cebula and his wife, Dawn, Jenkins Twp.; daughter, Ellie Kimmel and her husband, Tom, Elizabethtown; siblings, Edward Gable, Seattle, Wash.; Helen Matzan, Rochester, NY; Leonard Gable, Taylor; Joseph Gable, Webster, NY; Clark Gable, Rochester, NY; and Leona Juba, Taylor; two grandsons, Jeff Kimmel and his wife, Allison, Pittsburgh and Scott Kimmel, Elizabethtown; caring nephew, Dr. Joseph Costello and his wife, Mary, Pittston; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, John, Thomas and Albert Gable.

The funeral will be Saturday, December 21, 2013, with a mass at 10:30A.M. in Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church 212 Wyoming Ave., Dupont. Everyone attending the mass is asked to go directly to the church Saturday morning. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Dupont.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects today, December 20, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 712 S. Keyser Ave. Taylor, PA 18517 or the American Lung Assoc. 2300 Adams Ave. Scranton, PA 18509.
