John D. "Ziggy" Soska, 37, of West Wyoming, passed away Saturday morning, August 30, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Kingston, he was a son of John F. Soska III, Pittston and Lori E. Daniel, Hughestown. John had attended Pittston Area High School. He was employed by Latona Trucking, Jenkins Township. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
Ziggy was loved by his family and many friends. He will be remembered for his smile, great story telling, ability to brighten any room with his presence and willingness to always help others. He had a great love of the outdoors, which included fishing, hiking and camping. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by his sister, Amy Soska, West Wyoming; brothers, Todd and Shawn Soska, Pittston; paternal grandfather, John F. Soska, Jr. Pittston; maternal grandparents, Albert & Joan Daniel, Hughestown; niece, Kylie Soska; aunts, uncles and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Bridget (Jean) Soska.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014, at 9:30 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Everyone attending the mass is asked to go directly to the church on Friday morning.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects during a celebration of John's life on Thursday, September 4, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston, (Port Griffith).
