Marion D. Blecher, 79, of Exeter, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marcella Radzville Kashuba. She was a graduate of Pittston High School. Marion was a talented seamstress. She owned and operated, with her mother, M&M Fashions dress factory in Meshoppen and also managed numerous local dress factories. Marion later furthered her education and became a certified nursing assistant. She was employed by the Meadows Nursing Home, Dallas and West View Manor, Wyoming, until her retirement. She was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union. Marion was also an amazing gardener and everyone benefited year after year.
Marion was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family and dear friends were her treasure. Marion's life was completed by her two shelties, Kenzie and Shelby. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her daughters, Debra Barth and husband, Edward, Plains; Diane O'Neil and husband, Terry, Lakeland, FL and Donna Giza and husband, Bill, Jenkins Twp.; grandchildren, Trista Brown, Jennifer DellaPenna, Jason and Jaime McMurtry; four great grandchildren and her Aunt, Stella Wendoloski, who was more like a sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Blecher and grandson, Jeremy Bratlee.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30AM from Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, William St., Pittston. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Overfield Cemetery, Meshoppen.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects Saturday morning, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, at the funeral home.
