Lois A. Smith, L.P.N. - Fri, July 24, 2015

Lois A. Smith, L.P.N., 85, of Moosic, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 20, 2015, at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor. She and her loving and devoted husband, Herbert E. Smith, celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on January 20, 2015.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Josephine Wolfe Seipe Bruch and Harry J. Bruch. Lois was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1947 and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Wilkes-Barre.

For years she did private duty at Allied Services, Scranton and later years at Adams Manor, Scranton, where she retired in 1995. She was a member of the Martha Washington Chapter 3, Taylor and the VFW Post 4954 Ladies Auxiliary, Old Forge.

Lois was a beloved wife, mother, and grandma, who was cherished by her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor, for the compassionate care given to Lois and her family and to Hospice of the Sacred Heart of Wilkes-Barre, for the exceptional care given to Lois in her final days.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Lisa Killino and husband, Atty. Thomas J., Scranton and Kristina Dorsey and husband, Don, Carolina Beach, NC; grandchildren, Savanna and Thomas Killino and James Thomas Murphy, Tori Renee Smith, and Dallas Holden Skillings; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Judith Ann Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10:00AM in St. Ann's Basilica Parish

1250 Saint Ann Street, West Scranton, by Rev. Fran Landry, C.P., Pastor. Everyone attending the mass is asked to go directly to the church on Friday morning. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery, Clarks Summit.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects Thursday, July 23, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith).
