Gifford Nolan, 50, of Hanover Twp., passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at his home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Priscilla Calabro Scovell, Plains Twp. and the late Ronald Scovell. Gifford was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre and had attended Penn State University. He was the President of Gileon Computer Co., Hanover Twp..
Gifford was inducted into the Plains Sports Hall of Fame for his achievements as a baseball player. He served as Vice President of the Wilkes-Barre Girls Softball League. He was an avid motorcyclist. The organization of Valley with a Heart was very dear to Gifford. He organized and participated in many benefit bike runs and had devoted his time and talent within the organization.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Gifford Lee Nolan, Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Alexandra Nolan, Hanover Twp. and Payton Nolan, attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Maci Waitkus; brother, Michael Nolan, Torrance, CA; sister, Marissa Nolan Post, Philadelphia; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins.
The funeral will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 8:30 AM from Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, 134 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, to be celebrated by Rev. J. Duane Gavitt, Pastor. Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Twp..
Relatives and friends may pay their respects Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
