Ronald J. Appel, 68, of Plains Township, passed away Monday evening, March 21, 2016, in Geisinger- Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Thomas D. and Frances Hope Appel. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.

Ronald was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, David and Jack Appel. Surviving are daughter, Jackie Rinish and her husband, Rick; son, Jeremy Appel; seven grandchildren; brother, Robert Appel and his wife, Peggy; nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service was held at the convenience of the family.
