The Rev. Richard S. Wenzel, formerly of Clarks Green, died Thursday, March 24, 2016, in United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Township.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Sebert and Jessie DeWild Wenzel. He was a graduate of Clarks Summit High School and received his bachelor's degree from Muhlenberg College. Rev. Wenzel also received his theology degree from Drew University.

He was formerly affiliated with churches in Falls, Lake Winola and other area churches.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Wenzel was also preceded in death by his brother, the Rev. Donald A. Wenzel; niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Douglas Wenzel.

Surviving are his caretakers, Harold Piasecki, Jr. and his wife, Samantha.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
