Matthew James Damato, 27, of Kingston, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, May 21, 2016, at home.
Born in Livingston, NJ, he was a son of Michael A. Damato, Harding and Marguerite J. Wilman Damato, Whippany, NJ. Matthew was a graduate of Westside Area Vo-Tech., Kingston and was employed as an inspector at Golden Technologies, Kingston.
Matthew was loved by his family and many friends. He had a great love of the outdoors, which included fishing, hiking and bike riding. Matthew also loved hanging out with friends down at the bridge and had a passion for exotic cars, his favorite brands being Maserati and Tesla Electric cars. He also enjoyed his many trips back to New Jersey.
Also surviving are his Stepmom, Judee Damato, Harding; Fiancé of Marguerite, David Talley, Whippany, NJ; sisters, Michelle Damato, Netcong, NJ, Kayla Williamson, Newton, NJ, half-sister, Margaret Garrett, Exeter, PA; half-brothers, David John Garrett, Falls, PA Justin Garrett, Exeter, PA; maternal grandparents, Jane & Donald Frazer; maternal great grandmother, Margaret Oliverie Wheatley; uncle, Mark Wilman and wife, Gerry; aunt, Jacqueline Wilman; cousins, Desire’e Wilman, Alexis Wilman and Marc Wilman; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Lavonne Damato.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, May 25th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston, (Port Griffith).
There will also be a visitation on Friday, May 27th from 4:00 to 7:30 pm at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave, Caldwell, NJ 07006, with services to follow at 7:30PM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 57 N. Franklin Street Wilkes-Barre, Pa 18701, in honor of Matthew’s great grandmother, Margaret Oliverie Wheatley.
