Lorraine Matthews Cebula - Private

Lorraine Matthews Cebula, 87, of Dupont, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, June 12, 2016, at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor. She was the widow of Martin E. Cebula, who passed away July 23, 1984.

Lorraine was born in Moosic, a daughter of the late James and Esther Morgans Matthews.

She was a graduate of Moosic High School, Class of 1946. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Center Fashions, Royal Fashions and Steingut Fashions, all in Dupont. She was a member of Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church, Dupont. She was also a member of the ILGWU.

Lorraine was a beloved mother and grandmother, who loved to bake and entertain family and friends in her home.

She is survived by her son, Martin Cebula and his wife, Diane, Mountain Top; daughter, Lori Ann Johnson and her husband, Harris, Sunbury; grandchildren, Heather, Melissa and Christopher Johnson; nieces and nephews

In addition to her husband and parents, Lorraine was also preceded in death by brothers, James, Robert, Russell and William Matthews and sisters, Esther May Ford and Doris Smerdon.

A private graveside service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Dupont.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church 212 Wyoming Ave., Dupont, PA 18641.
