Isabel Elizabeth Mirro Lucarella - Saturday, 3/11/2017

Isabel Elizabeth Mirro Lucarella, of West Pittston, passed away on March 4, 2017. She and her devoted husband, Rinaldo "Rene" Lucarella, would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this October.

Born in West Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Concetta DeSpirito Mirro. Isabel was a graduate of West Pittston High School, Class of 1948. Following graduation, she was employed at the Hitchner Biscuit Company, Drury Pants Factory, First Bank of Pittston, and lastly Avon for over 50 years, where she was a member of the President's Club.

She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Pittston, where she served many roles including Secretary, Deacon, member of the Golden Star Bible Class, and Sunday school teacher.

Isabel loved Sunday dinners following church, cooking the sauce and making any food for her family to enjoy together. These were the times she cherished the most. She was also known for her love of animals, especially her many cats throughout the years.

The family wishes to thank Dr. James Bruno and Celtic Healthcare Hospice for their compassionate care.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her children, Elaine Bell and husband, William, of West Pittston; Louis V. Lucarella and wife, Julie, Duryea; Anna Marie Sernak and husband, James, Drums; Suzanne Bratlee and husband, Ross, Fairhope, Alabama, as well as sister-in-law, Esther Mirro, brother-in-law, Raymond Lucarella, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who when they said "I love you", she would always respond with "Love you more". Grandchildren Erin Brogna (Alex); Cathleen Schmonsees (Kevin); Sara Thomas (Keith); Cara Bell (Michael Green); Jennie Davis (Robert); Emily Whitaker (Tyler); Grace Bratlee (Shawn Driesbaugh); Anna Bratlee (Jared Marien); Great-grandchildren Anthony Saitta; Grace Schmonsees; Ali Brogna; Benjamin Thomas; Morgan Schmonsees; Isabel Davis; Zoe Thomas; Delia Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by great-grandson, Luke Richard Thomas; brothers, Joseph, Carmen, David Mirro; sisters, Carmella Parente, Grace & Genevieve Mirro.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Presbyterian Church, Pittston, with Rev. James Thyren, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Second Presbyterian Church, 143 Parsonage Street, Pittston, PA 18640.
