Anna A. Cheresko, 96, a resident of Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, formerly of Shantytown, Jenkins Twp., passed away Wednesday morning at the manor. She was the widow of Charles Cheresko, who passed away in 1960.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Monka Janosik. Anna was educated in the Jenkins Twp. School District. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin, and was a member of its Young at Heart Senior Club. She was also a member of the ILGWU. A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, who was cherished by her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are six daughters, Roseanne Shukstis, Succasunna, NJ; Genevieve Mudlock, Inkerman; Ann Berecin, Plains; Patricia Rinish, Laflin; Mary Ann Rodeghiero, Westminister; and Kathryn Clifford, Pasadena, Md.; 22 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and George Janosik, and a sister, Mary Janosik.

The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 A.M. from the Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main St. Pittston,(Port Griffith), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Maria Goretti Church 42 Redwood Drive., Laflin, to be celebrated by Msgr. Neil J. Van Loon, Pastor. Interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Plains.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited Saturday at 9:30 A.M. in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Maria Goretti Church 42 Redwood Drive Laflin, PA 18702 or to the Little Flower Manor 200 S. Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
