Andrew "Sonny" T. Sleboda - Wednesday, 11/15/17

Andrew "Sonny" T. Sleboda, 77, of Pittston, passed away Thursday evening, November 9, 2017, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He and his wife, Marilyn Golden Sleboda, celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on August 22, 2017.

Born in Pittston, he was a son of the late Andrew Michael and Mary Waschek Sleboda. Andrew was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a Radarman. After the service, Andrew continued his education and graduated from King's College, Wilkes-Barre, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Spanish. He was a high school Spanish teacher at Kingston High School and later in the South River School District, NJ.

Andrew was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who was cherished by his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his sons, Christopher Sleboda and wife, Kathleen, Guilford, CT and Andrew Sleboda and wife, Jenny, Pittston; grandchildren, Lucas, Keaton and Ryan Sleboda; brother, John Sleboda and wife, Betty Jane, Hamburg, PA; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Wroblewski

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 15th at 10:00 AM in Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main St., Pittston (Port Griffith), with Rev. Samuel Garnett, officiating. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
