Augustine "Augie" F. DeGennaro - 2/14/2011

Augustine "Augie" F. DeGennaro, 61, of Heather Highlands, Jenkins Twp., passed away Thursday (Feb. 10th) morning in Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre. He and his wife, Antoinette Montalbano DeGennaro, celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on March, 28, 2010.

Born in Delaware, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret Ramaglia DeGennaro. He was a graduate of Massapequa High School, NY and received his college education while in the service. Augustine was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed by Local 580 Iron Workers, New York City, NY, and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Augie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

He is also survived by sons, Paul DeGennaro and Robert Faso, both of Pittston; daughter, Sharon DeGennaro, Fla; brother, Nicholas DeGennaro, Safety Harbor, Fla.; four grandchildren and one on the way to be born in June, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl DeGennaro.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday (Feb. 14th) at 9:30 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. Relatives and friends may pay their respects during a celebration of Augustine’s life on Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston, (Port Griffith).
