Barry F. Barosky, 63, of Pittston Twp., passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. Plains Twp.. Barry and Helen (Ardo) were happily married for 37 years.
Born in Pittston, he was a son of the late Stanley J. and Genevieve J. Bianco Barosky. He was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1972 and earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in accounting at Bloomsburg University. While living in Virginia, Barry had served in the National Guard. He was employed for 16 years by Keystone Community Resources, Clarks Summit, as an IT specialist and accountant and prior to that by PP & L, Allentown, as their financial accountant. He was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.
He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Whatever Barry did he did with love. He had a talent of woodworking and loved his wood shop and also enjoyed fixing cars. There is no one who could sing "Happy Birthday" like Barry. Barry will be remembered for his big heart and genuine nature of helping and caring for others whenever he was needed. His passing will be a great loss to many but his memory will last forever.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Gerald Gibbons and his staff and the Geisinger staff for their compassionate care. Also a special thank you to Barry's colleagues at Keystone Community Resources, who unselfishly donated their time off as Barry continued to receive treatment for his illness.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his son, Barry Barosky, II, Pittston Twp.; brother, Frank Barosky, Lebanon, Ohio; sister, Donna Vodzack and husband, Bernie, Pittston; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 8:45 A.M. from Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street Pittston (Port Griffith), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in St. Joseph Marello Parish 237 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Twp..
Relatives and friends may pay their respects Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
