Jean Louise Tompkins VanBlargan, 62, of Pittston, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. Tompkins, Sr. and Mary Walsh Weinland. Jean Louise was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1975, while in high school she was involved with the Pep Squad. Prior to her retirement, Jean Louise was employed as a cashier by Kmart, Pittston and Walmart, Wilkes-Barre. She had also worked as a volunteer for Head Start, Pittston. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.
Surviving are her son, Joshua VanBlargan, Erie; daughter, Kristin Fedder, Bloomsburg; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Paul, Jr. , Allan, Cathryn and Addisyn Fedder; great granddaughter, Tessa; brother, Robert Tompkins, Jr., Pittston; sister, Theresa Norton and husband, James, Falls; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Jean Louise was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Nevaeh Isabella.
A blessing service will be held at 7:00PM on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, in Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street Pittston (Port Griffith).
Relatives and friends may pay their respects Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca.
