Mary Pirrella Tokar-Rizzo - Monday, 11/5/2019

Mary Pirrella Tokar-Rizzo passed away peacefully Saturday, November 16, 2019, with her family by her side.

Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Prudence Palmeri Pirrella. She was a graduate of Pittston High School and Empire School of Beauty.

Mary is survived by her husband, Michael Rizzo; children, Leonard and wife, Deborah Tokar ; Brian and wife, Graceann Tokar and Cindy Vogel; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Pirrella Sico and brother, Anthony Pirella.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by first husband, Leonard Tokar and two grandsons, Brandon and Jonathan.

Parastas services will be held at 7:30 PM on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street Pittston (Port Griffith), with the Very Rev. Gary J. Mensinger, officiating.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Dear Mickey, Lenny, Brian, Cindy, Barbara, and Anthony: The nuns and I have been praying for Mary by name each day for a week at our Vespers at 5 PM. May her soul rest in peace. Michael, I was your classmate at Garfield School on Vine Street and Pittston HS. My sympathies to you especially. May Mary's dear soul rest in peace. "The strife is o'er, the battle is won."
