Anita L. Mirra DePascale, 93, of Exeter, passed away Tuesday evening, December 15, 2020, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph DePascale, who passed away January 22, 2007.
Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline Bruzza Mirra. She was educated in the Pittston schools. Anita was born into a family of farmers and was a hard worker. She owned and operated Mirra's Stand, Exeter, where she sold fruits and vegetables. In her younger years, she lived in a house on Fox Hill golf course and operated a hot dog stand. She always did whatever it took to provide for her family. She was a member of St. Barbara's Parish, Exeter.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph DePascale, West Wyoming and Richard DePascale, Exeter; grandchildren, Jody DePascale and Barbara Wesley, who she referred to as her "Dolly" and husband, Brian, all of Inkerman; great grandsons, Anthony DePascale, Matthew, Marshall and Lane Wesley; sister, Rose Rayeski, Exeter; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary and Joanne DePascale; brothers, Vincent and Anthony Mirra; sister, Mary Mirra, and daughter-in-law, Joanne Marie DePascale.
A private blessing service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
