Joseph S. Skowronski, 87, of Dupont, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 24, 2021, at The Meadows Manor, Dallas. His wife of 51 years, Rose Marie Bella Skowronski, passed away in 2011.
Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Edward and Bridget Slusark Skowronski. He was a graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1951. He was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston. Prior to his retirement, he was a machine operator for Atlas Chain, West Pittston.
Joseph enjoyed working with his creative wife Rose Marie known as "Victorian Rose" and selling Victorian hats and Victorian Era decorations. He also enjoyed his nature walks in the woods, taking many vacations to "Victorian" Cape May, NJ, attending community events and socializing with others.
Joseph was foremost a caregiver to his mother, father-in-law and to his wife. He was also a beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be loved and missed by all who knew him. In his later years he also had a good sense of humor.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Skowronski and wife, Karen, San Diego, CA; daughter, Lisa Skowronski, Dupont; son Michael Skowronski, Dupont; grandson, Kurt Skowronski; sister, Ceil Groblewski, Duryea and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Skowronski, who was killed in the Battle of the Bulge; sisters, Mary Starinsky and Theresa Gudz.
The funeral service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
