Scott J. Cienki - Tuesday, 6/29/2021

Scott J. Cienki, 54, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center- South Wilkes-Barre Campus. He and his wife, Dorothea Weaver Cienki, celebrated their 20th Wedding Anniversary on April 21, 2021.

Born in Hazleton, he was a son of Joseph Cienki, Sugarloaf and the late Mary Quinn Cienki. Scott was a graduate of Bishop Hafey High School, Hazleton. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Kings College, Wilkes-Barre and Master's degrees from both Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. (Job Development and Placement) and the University of Scranton (Human Resources Administration). He was employed by Sharper Embroidery, Swoyersville and CareGivers America, Plains as a Support Service Worker. Prior to that, Scott worked for United Rehabilitation Services and Zayre's and Ames Department Stores.

Scott was a member of St. Andrew Parish, Wilkes-Barre.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his furbaby, Zoey, brother, Chris Cienki and companion, Adrienne, Lewisburg; brother-in-law, George Weaver and wife, Susan, Waymart; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his furbaby, Areba, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Ann Weaver.

A Blessing Service will be held 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Baloga Funeral Home Inc., 1201 Main St., Pittston (Port Griffith).

Relatives and friends may pay their respects during a celebration of Scott's life on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Everyone attending the interment is asked to go directly to the cemetery on Wednesday morning.
