Robert J. "Bob" Matrunich - Private

Robert J. "Bob" Matrunich, 78, of Pittston, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Wesley Village, Jenkins Twp.. He and his wife, Ann Marie Coyne Matrunich, celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on November 9, 2020.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late John and Anna Parada Matrunich. Robert was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains, Class of 1961. He worked over 18 years in janitorial services at Wesley Village, Jenkins Township. He was a member and one of the directors of the Lithuanian Club, Pittston.

Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He was a kind and generous soul who had a great sense of humor and would always go the extra mile for others. Bob enjoyed camping and was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to draw and was a sci-fi and western movie buff. He always took great pride in his appearance and will be remembered for being a sharp dressed man, who loved to dance.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Natasha Mantione and husband, Michael, of NJ ; step daughter, Ann Marie Burton and husband, Don, of FL; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Ronald Matrunich and wife, Camille of Wilkes-Barre; sister-in-law, Eileen Matrunich, of Plains; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Jeffrey "JJ" Matrunich.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith).
