Edward P. Gorzkowski, Sr., 92, of the Glendale section of Pittston Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at his home. His wife, Mary Ann Bednar Gorzkowski passed away in 2000.
Born in Avoca, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna Gorzkowski. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Edward was the owner of Modern Gas Sales, Avoca. He was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca.
Edward was a beloved father, father-in-law, grandpa, great grandpa, and uncle, who was cherished by his family and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He loved to watch western movies and enjoyed the game of baseball and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Surviving are his children, Edward Gorzkowski, Jr., Joseph Gorzkowski, Linda Herman, John (Jay) Gorzkowski and Richard Gorzkowski, all of the Glendale section of Pittston Twp.; grandchildren; great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his parrot, Madison.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Gorzkowski and sisters, Madeline Cashmark and Margaret Jumper.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Queen of the Apostles Parish, 715 Hawthorne Street, Avoca, by Father Phillip J. Sladicka, Pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
