Maureen A. Aptiliasimov, 66, of Nanticoke, passed away with her dignity and self-righteousness on Monday, October 18, 2021. She and her husband, Fikri Aptiliasimov, have been married for 41 of their 47 years together.
Born in Wyoming, she was a daughter of the late William "Scoop" O'Hara and Elizabeth "Betty" Namovich O'Hara. She was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School. Prior to retirement, she and her husband owned and operated Frank's Auto Service, Wyoming.
Maureen had a very strong Christian faith with God and a passion for helping others. She was a friend of Bill W. from where she grew in her spirituality then passed that on to her children. She was a trooper just like her parents in all of her struggles. She had volunteered for many organizations including, Ruth's Place and New Roots, both of Wilkes-Barre.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to spend time with family especially her grandchildren, who made life extra special. Maureen also enjoyed gardening and cooking meals with what she harvested.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Rebecca Stoner, Layla Aptiliasimov and companion, Ricardo Thibeaud, Seid Aptiliasimov, Adem Aptiliasimov and companion, Destiny Barthold; grandchildren, Eden, Madison, Serena, Jayden, Kaleb, Amira, Ciara, Tyrus and Addison; great granddaughter, Alaina; siblings, Dawn Fasciana and husband, Guy, William O'Hara, Patrick O'Hara, and Karen Giamber and husband, John; godchildren/niece and nephew, Dannelle and Jody; other numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved; her beloved best friend, Elizabeth Voigt-Walter and her family.
Maureen was reunited with her parents and also her two sisters, Colleen O'Hara Krieger and Beth Ann O'Hara, with whom she missed so much.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston, (Port Griffith). Funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
