Helen P. Stegura, 94, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 29, 2021, in Allied Services Hospice, Wilkes-Barre. She was the widow of Charles B. Stegura, who passed away June 17, 1998.
Born in Port Griffith, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Sendor Baron. She was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School, Class of 1945. Prior to retirement, she was a seamstress for several local dress factories.
Helen was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was devoted to God and her faith. She had the most welcoming smile and the gift to always make you feel special. Her favorite pastimes included crocheting, bingo, poker and jigsaw puzzles.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Mary Vesloski and Barbara Mazurkivich and husband, Mark, all of West Pittston; sons, John Stegura and wife, Christine, West Pittston, Charles Stegura, Hughestown and Robert Stegura and wife, Roxanne, Harrisburg; grandchildren, John Vesloski, Jared and Jesse Mazurkivich, Lukas and Adam Stegura; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, William John Vesloski; brother, Joseph Baron; three sisters, Vernie Gayoski, Pauline Bernakas and Rose Ludzia.
A blessing service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith), with Fr. Paul McDonnell, O.S.J., officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M., at the funeral home.
