John J. Panuski, 90, of Dupont, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. His wife, Betty Frost Panuski, passed away in 2004.

Born in Dupont, he was a son of the late Peter and Gabriella Domoracki Panuski. He was a graduate of Dupont High School, Class of 1949. John was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War. In 1979, he served as Pittston Area School Director. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Wilson's Inc., Wilkes-Barre and the PA Turnpike Commission, from which he retired. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. John was also a member of the VFW Post 4909 and Polish American Citizens Club, both of Dupont.

He is survived by his son, Ronald Panuski and wife, Joann; daughter, Cindy Panuski Veliky; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

The funeral will be Monday at 9:15 AM from Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, to be celebrated by Rev. Thomas J. Petro, Pastor. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Dupont.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
