Ann C. Pierson, 94, of Port Griffith, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, in Highland Manor Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Exeter.
She was the wife of Joseph R. Pierson, who passed away on December 27, 2003.
Born in Port Griffith, she was a daughter of the late John and Catherine Kalafut Simpsi. Ann was a graduate of Jenkins Twp. High School. Prior to retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry and also had worked for Consolidated Cigar, Pittston. She was one of the original committee members of the Jenkins Twp. Purple Riders mini football team.
Ann was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Her life centered around her faith, family and friends. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom brought great joy to her life.
Ann was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Port Griffith, prior to the church closure, where she was a member of their choir and served as one of their first female ushers. She is a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Pierson and wife, Diane, Port Griffith; John Pierson and wife, Valerie, Port Griffith; David Pierson and wife, Madeline, Old Forge; Gregory Pierson, Port Griffith; grandchildren, Maria Pierson and husband, Joseph Licata, Denver, Colorado; Nicole Reese and husband, Brian, Port Griffith and Victoria Ruth and husband, Michael, Pittston; great grandchildren, Spencer, Alexandra and Natalie Reese, Port Griffith; nieces, Ann Tressa Olejnik and Christina Tomlinson; nephew, Michael Tressa, great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ann was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Rabicki, Sophie Tressa, Nell Bush and infant sister, Eva Simpsi.
The funeral will be 10:15 AM Thursday, October 13, 2022 from Baloga Funeral Home, Inc., 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St. Pittston. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:15 AM, at the funeral home.
