Joseph "Wiggles" Wegleski, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He and his wife, Mary Ann Harenza Wegleski, celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on June 28, 2022.
Born in Dickson City, he was a son of the late Stanley and Mary Mazur Wegleski. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Preferred Meals, Moosic and Milazzo Industries, Jenkins Township. In his earlier years, he coached little league in Jenkins Township.
Joe was quiet man who always enjoyed working. On a nice warm day you would find him pressure washing. He also liked wood working and eating out. He enjoyed relaxing on the front porch with a good cigar, iced tea and listening to country music. Joe was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Family was very special to Joe especially his children and granddaughter who he loved very much.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his Aunt Helen Balestrini "helch", Leo and Karen, Maureen, Joseph and Mary, David and Mindy, Mark and Sherry, for their love and always being there to lend a helping hand. To the neighbors, your kindness will never be forgotten. Also to Dr. Cassandra Lynn Tunis, Dr. Maya Lillian Lichtenstein and Pathway Health Care and their staffs for the compassionate care they gave to Joseph and his family. A special thanks to the first responders of the Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance and to the clergy and staff of St. John the Evangelist Church for their prayers and concern.
Joe is survived by his best friend and wife Mary Ann; his daughters, Jo Ann Wegleski and Jacqueline Wegleski; son, Joseph Wegleski; granddaughter, Nadia Wegleski; sister-in-law, Theresa Schubel; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; furbabies, Grey Grey and Pearl.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley and James; sisters, Irene, Violet, Rosemary, Delores and Martha; furbaby, Blackie.
A blessing service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith). Interment will be at a later date in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at the funeral home.
