Alice A. Engleman, 84, of Port Griffith, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Francis Donald Engleman.
Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Kopec Remus.
She was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston and Kings College, Wilkes-Barre, where she earned her Bachelor's degree. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Bell Atlantic, Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston and its Altar and Rosary Society. She also volunteered for the church flea market.
Alice was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was cherished by her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She enjoyed for many years being a part of the Foster Grandparents program at Pittston Area. She loved to travel and had fond memories of the many trips she took with her family and friends. Alice also looked forward to her visits to the Mohegan Sun casino.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Donna) Engleman, Duryea; Michael (Mary Jo) Engleman, Pittston and Eric (Jessica) Engleman, Altoona; grandchildren, Aryanna Davis, Danielle Sumski, Stephanie Burns, Nevan and Grace McGraw; five great grandchildren; sister, Sister Mary Ann Remus, I.H.M., Scranton; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Remus and brother, Joseph Remus.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St. Pittston, to be celebrated by Fr. Arbo Satoun. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Pittston.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the church on Tuesday morning 10:00 AM until the time of the mass.
