Stanley E. Bartleson, 87, of Shavertown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre. His wife, Lydia M. Eddy Bartleson, passed away on May 6, 2015.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Hilbert A. and Rose Laskowski Bartleson. He was a graduate of Swoyersville High School, Class of 1954. He had worked for Pittston Hospital and later for Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, from where he retired in 1999. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his daughters, Lori Black, Terri Scialpi and Julie Bilby; step-daughters, Tina Shonk and Debra Spade; step-son, Gary Kanarr; 14 grandchildren; plus many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Bartleson; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Judith Drumetski; son, James Kanarr; step-son, Edward J. Kanarr and step-daughter, Jacqueline Kanarr.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects during a celebration of Stanley's life on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston, (Port Griffith).
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Loyalville.
