Amelia "Emily" Grigalonis - Wednesday, 8/28/2024

Amelia "Emily" Grigalonis, 93, of Port Griffith, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Partridge-Tippet Nursing Facility, Jenkins Twp.. She was the wife of Anthony Grigalonis, who passed away in 2000.

Born in Port Griffith, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette Dziga Howanietz. She was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School. Prior to retirement, she had worked many years in the garment industry.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Wesley Village for the exceptional care given to Emily and her family.

She is survived by her nieces and caregivers, Barbara Maxwell, Monica Orenich and Michele Manganello; several other nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in Immaculate Conception Church at Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, to be celebrated by Fr. Michael Drevitch. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects Wednesday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of the mass.

I'm so sorry to hear of Emily's passing. She was well know in Port Griffith as a kind and friendly person. I just remember her walking to church every Sunday. I always admired her, she was a very beautiful woman as well as a wonderful person. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
