Surrounded by the love of her children, Debra Ann Leandri, 64, of Wyoming, passed away on May 24, 2026, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, due to complications from Scleroderma.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Moceyunas, and her former husband and lifelong friend, Joseph J. Leandri.
In addition to her father, Vito Moceyunas, Wyoming, and her step-brother Joseph Moceyunas and wife, Kathryn Moceyunas, Jenkins Township, she is survived by her daughters Alyssa Smith and husband, Aaron Smith, Harveys Lake, and Rachel Davis and husband, Kyle Davis, and granddaughter, Theadora Davis, Pittston Township. She is also survived by her uncle, John "Sonny" Remus, and aunt, Julie Remus, of Exeter; her sister-in-law, Maria Yonki and her husband, Robert, as well as her nephew, Christopher Yonki, and niece, Deanna Yonki, Hughestown.
Debbie was a 1980 graduate of Pittston Area High School, and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in nursing at Wilkes University. She worked as a registered nurse at the former Mercy Hospital, where her compassion touched countless lives.
For 35 years, Debbie courageously battled the rare autoimmune disease Scleroderma, facing all challenges with resilience, grace, and remarkable strength, while defying the odds and far surpassing the expectations and limitations of her illness. She never allowed Scleroderma to define her, choosing instead to live with independence, dignity, and a deep devotion to her faith and her family.
Being a mother to her two daughters was Debbie's greatest joy and the center of her world- until she proudly embraced her newest role: "Grammy" to her beloved granddaughter, Thea. She also cherished every moment with her pets and grand-pets.
Debbie had a way of making every room sparkle simply by being in it- fitting for someone who loved a little bling and had a voice that carried not just in volume, but in presence. She was someone people always noticed, admired, and gravitated toward.
The art of dance held a special place in her heart and became a lasting bond she shared with her daughters throughout their lives. She will be especially missed by her Broadway on the Boulevard dance family, where her love and support was felt by so many.
Above all, she was deeply kind and warm, making others feel seen, loved, and cared for.
Debbie's daughters extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Frederick Wigley of the Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center and Dr. Martin Blidner for their exceptional care and compassion throughout Debbie's journey for the last 35 years.
