Victor D'Souza, 93, of Jenkins Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Edenbrook Second Avenue, Kingston.
He was the beloved husband of the late Zelia (Noronha) D'Souza. Victor and Zelia celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July 2025, before her passing on March 14, 2026.
Born in Bulsar, India, he was the son of the late Simon Luis and Fillipina D'Souza. Victor began his career in India before moving to Nairobi, Kenya, where he continued his professional career as a banker and became deeply involved with the Lions Club. His dedication and leadership ultimately led him to serve as District Governor in Africa.
Victor later retired to Toronto, Canada, and eventually moved to the United States to be closer to his family. While in Toronto, he was an active member of the St. Francis Xaviers Senior Club, serving as president for six years. He was also a devoted member of St. Maria Goretti Church in Laflin, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister.
He was a member of the Lions Club of Jenkins Township and the Knights of Columbus Council #372, Pittston. Victor and Zelia shared a love of travel and enjoyed visiting numerous countries throughout the world.
Victor will be lovingly remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His kindness, gentle spirit, and love for his family will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Wallace (Anju) D'Souza; daughter, Michelle (Nelson) Pinto; grandchildren, Saarah (Rohan) Wadhwa, Sophie D'Souza, Denise Pinto (Vishal Patel), and Vanessa Pinto; brother, Diogo D'Souza; sisters, Olinda Pereira and Emily Pinto; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Zelia, he was preceded in death by his brother, George D'Souza, and sisters, Ann Almeida, Betty D'Souza, and Rose Alberts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, with Rev. Alex Roche serving as celebrant.
Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. The Parish Rosary Group will recite the rosary at 10:30 AM in the church.
A private interment will follow at St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rescue Warriors Cat Rescue, 539 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston, PA 18643.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Baloga Funeral Home, Inc., 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith).
