Michael F. Dantone, 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 30, at Wesley Village, Inkerman.
Born in Pittston, PA, he was the son of the late Matty and Josephine Dente Dantone.
Mike was a graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1962. He started his career in the transportation industry as an assistant traffic manager for Eberhard Faber in Mountain Top then later became the traffic manager for Harper and Row Publishers in Scranton. He went on to become CEO and co-owner of (NEPSCA) Northeastern Pennsylvania Shippers Co-Op Association. He later worked as a transportation consultant for TRL and Prime Trucking in Pittston. He was a member of the Jenkins Township Lions Club for 40 years and served as a past president. He was also a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Pittston.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brothers, Matthew Dantone and Bob Coleman.
Mike is survived by his wife, Betty Semanski Dantone, with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on June 3, 2026. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, daughter Dana Seach and her husband, Atty. Stephen Seach, Drums, son, Matthew Dantone, Wilkes Barre, and daughter Lori Appel and her husband, Paul of DuPont. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Stephen Seach, Jr and wife Sasha, Nicholas Seach, Angelo Seach, Camille Dantone & Mia Dantone and 4 Great Grandchildren, Brody & Ellie Seach, and Rhyland & Rhylo Rose.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Communion of Saints Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 237 William St., Pittston. Family and friends may pay their respects Thursday morning at the church from 8:30 AM- 9:30 AM.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, aides and staff of the Partridge-Tippett Nursing Facility at Wesley Village.
