Dorothy "Dottie" A. Judge, formerly of Port Griffith, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Highland Manor Nursing Home, Exeter. She was the widow of Patrick F. Judge.
Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late John and Nellie Remsky Pakutka. Dorothy was a graduate of Pittston High School and Pittston Hospital School of Nursing. In the beginning of her career, she worked as a registered nurse at Pittston Hospital. Years later, Dorothy played an integral part in the opening plans of NPW and continued her career as Nursing Supervisor at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp..
Dorothy was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was the center of her family and will be missed but never forgotten. She loved to cook and her family enjoyed being on the receiving end of all the wonderful meals she prepared.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staffs of both the Highland Manor and Celtic Health Care for their compassionate care.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Fabrizio and her husband, Anthony, Port Griffith; son, Brian Judge and his wife, Annette, Wyoming; sister, Bernadine Chikowski, N. Arlington, NJ; four grandchildren, Anthony and Lauren Fabrizio, Andrew and Timothy Judge; great grandson, Domanick Fabrizio; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Patrick F. Judge; two sisters, Helen Lynch and Dolores Pakutka.
A Memorial Mass and committal prayers will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. A private interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the mass.
