Rose Marie Rosiak, 90, of Port Griffith, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013, at Highland Manor, Exeter. She was the widow of Edward Rosiak, Sr., who passed away Dec. 31, 1963.
Born in Port Griffith, she was the last surviving child of the late Thomas and Sophie Vincek Novak. She attended Jenkins Twp. High School. Prior to retirement, she worked in several local dress factories. She was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pittston, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and was most recently a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Rose was also a member of the Jenkins Twp. American Legion, Post 938 Ladies Auxiliary, the Jenkins Twp. Senior Citizens Club, where she enjoyed playing Bingo, and the Jenkins Twp. Democratic Organization.
Rose was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, who was cherished by her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Gerald Gibbons and Highland Manor for the compassionate care given to Rose.
Surviving are her sons, Thomas Rosiak and his wife, Rebecca, Pittston; John Kevin Rosiak and his wife, Maureen, Kingston; Stephen Rosiak and his wife, Lisa, Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Mary Rose Rosiak, Hanover Twp.; Eleanor "Jeanie" Giamusso, Pittston; daughter-in-law, Margaret Rosiak, Exeter; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Edward "Whitey" Rosiak, Jr. in 2004, brothers, Albert, Bartholomew, Daniel, Edward, John, Stephen, Joseph and Thomas Novak and sisters, Annie Jacinski, Mary Kurutz, Margaret Pramick.
A blessing service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. in the Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street, Pittston (Port Griffith), by Fr. Brian J.W. Clarke. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
