Lottie Kuligowski, of Dupont, passed away Saturday, January 25th at Riverside Rehab. & Nursing Center, Taylor, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. She was the widow of Joseph Kuligowski, who passed away in 1972.
Born in Dupont, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Agata Kuca Marek. She was educated in the Dupont schools. Lottie was employed as a seamstress in the garment industry and worked for several local dress factories in the area. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She also served as chaplain of the VFW, Post 4909 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a great dancer and enjoyed Polka music.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Martin Moran, Rev. Joseph D. Verespy, Maria Benfante, from the Dept. of Aging, the staff of Avoca Ambulance, Silver Care, Pittston and Riverside Nursing Home for the compassionate care given to Lottie.
Lottie is survived by her sons, Joseph Kuligowski and his wife, Zandra, Springbrook Twp; Richard Kuligowski, Dupont and John "Jack" Kuligowski, and his wife, Eleanor, Dupont; grandchildren, Dr. Robert, Kimberly, Joseph Ryan Kuligowski and Amy Hull; Great Grandchildren, Jacob and Samuel Hull; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley and William Marek and sisters, Sophie Shemanski and Anna Lesko.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 8:45 A.M. from Baloga Funeral Home, Inc. 1201 Main Street Pittston (Port Griffith), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, by Rev. Joseph D. Verespy. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
