Janine T. Skamarakus Koch, 45, of Exeter, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Kindred Hospital Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a beloved daughter of Shirley Fela Skamarakus, Exeter and James J. Skamarakus, Huntington Mills. She was a graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School, Class of 1986. She had worked as a Nurse's Aide in the Cardiac Unit at the General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre and also served as unit secretary. Janine was a devout catholic and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. She was a kind soul and had a positive impact on every life she touched. She will also be remembered for her love of animals.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Cynthia E. Skamarakus, West Pittston.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Adam and Valeria Fela.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at 9:30 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may pay their respects Wednesday at the church from 8:45 A.M. until the time of the mass.
