Frank M. Zielinski, 83, of Pittston, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. He and his wife, Marjorie Semyon Zielinski, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 10th.
Born in Dupont, he was a son of the late Joseph and Frances Koscielna Zielinski. He was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School, Class of 1949. Frank was an U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Interstate Dress Carriers, Plains. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 773.
He was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, Port Griffith.
Above all, Frank loved his time spent with family. He adored his grandchildren and was always there for their school and sporting events. He took great pride in his yard work and especially enjoyed riding his tractor. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his son, Robert and wife, Deborah, Old Forge; daughters, Debra and husband, Edward Chicoski, Pittston Twp.; Gloria and husband, Louis Capitano, Pittston; grandchildren, Eric Zielinski, Edward, Jr. and Stefanie Chicoski, and Kristen Capitano, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, John, Edward and Andrew and sisters, Eva Mock, Stella Searfoss, Mary Wrazien, Jean Ruskus and Pauline Faleski.
A Blessing Service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 8:00 P.M. in Baloga Funeral Home Inc., 1201 Main St., Pittston (Port Griffith).
Relatives and friends may pay their respects during a celebration of Frank's life on Friday from 5:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
